Noise Sweater, 2014

This project is an exploration of creating alternative interfaces for sound-making.

The body of the sweater was constructed on a Brother KH 890 knitting machine and hand-linked together. Using an Embellish-knit!, a conductive pathway was created with yarn and conductive thread. This "wire" was then needle felted upon the surface of the sweater which leads to a microcontroller. Additional components, such as the Triple Nipple Knobs and Belly Button Jack were sewn on using conductive thread. The Belly Button Jack is connected to a small amp.

Materials: Wool yarn, conductive thread, wire, microcontroller, electronics
